TOPS Systems currently has some opening positions:

1.     Senior Microprocessor Design Engineer

This individual will be a key member of TOPS Systems’s Microprocessor Development group and be responsible for developing and enhancing TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core processor and systems. The ideal candidate will be an excellent microprocessor designer with hands-on experience working on design and verification of microprocessors. The position is full time, and offers full benefits. It is based in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, JAPAN.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, prove, and extend TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core processor design
• Work with customers to apply TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core processor to novel applications
• Work closely with the TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core development team
• Provide technical leadership to the rest of the organization

Job Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Outstanding design skills, preferably in VHDL or Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Able to demonstrate strong intellectual capabilities and significant individual contributions to microprocessor research and development
• Experience in at least one of following fields required: general purpose microprocessor, signal processing, computer vision, video compression, machine learning, video mining, or optimization
• Background in math and probability theory a plus
• Background in distributed processing on Multi-Core processor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 2.     Senior Software Engineer

This individual will be a key member of TOPS Systems’s Microprocessor Development group and be responsible for developing and enhancing Distributed Application Software and systems. The ideal candidate will be an excellent programmer with hands-on experience working on workload analysis of applications. The position is full time, and offers full benefits. It is based in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, JAPAN.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, prove, and extend distributed processing software on TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core
• Work with customers to apply TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core processor to novel applications
• Work closely with the TOPSTREAM™ Heterogeneous Multi-Core development team
• Provide technical leadership to the rest of the organization

Job Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Outstanding programming skills, preferably in Brook or C or C++
• Able to demonstrate strong intellectual capabilities and significant individual contributions to software research and development
• Experience in at least one of following fields required: signal processing, computer vision, video compression, machine learning, video mining, or optimization
• Background in math and probability theory a plus
• Background in distributed processing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
